Hi, I write in English so I can explain myself better.

I have an account in Wise to receive payments in Euros. Every month I get some cashback from the bank in euros.
When I create a new Bankhändelse I'm not sure if I'm doing it right:
1) I have to write manually the amount in Sek according to the exchange rate of the day I got the money in the bank. Is this correct?
2) Do I have to tick the box: Utlandsbetalning and write the amount in euros too?
3)Should it look like this?:
Debet X kr 1940 (that's the Wise account)
Kredit X kr 8311

Hi

I am not sure if the account 8311 is correct but otherwise everything you wrote is correct.

8311 is an account for interest

Casback is mor like a discount or a deduction of a cost

So i would suggest another account to use for your cashback. 4732 Erhållna mängdrabatter (inkl. bonus)

Really confusing name when they use cashback for this which is something completely different in Sweden.

I'm still not convinced that it should be concidered as an interest. If it first is deducted as tax which you later recieve a procentage back it would rather be concidered as tax recieved back.

So if the deduction first is accounted for like tax on account like account 8980 Other taxes and 1640 tax assets.

19XX kredit 1000 (100% of the tax deducted)
8980 Debet 800 (80% of the tax which really is tax)
1640 Debet 200 (20% which later will be recieved back as cashback)

When the cashback (20 % tax is recieved back) a while later it should then be accounted for against only 1640.

19XX Debet 200
1640 Kredit 200

So it should not be concidered as cashback or interest and should not have any effect on the result in the company at the end.

Joachim and I, after some discussion in the other thread, found a new answer. I'll share it here as well. The confusion arose due to Wise's Balance Cashbacks technically not being credit card cashbacks on purchases (as the term cashback is typically used), but actually an interest. I confirmed this with Wise support as well.

Example: Assume you have 1000 SEK on the Wise bank account before 1% interest ("Wise Balance Cashback"). Once you get paid interest (10 SEK), you get the following transactions:

Konto	Benämning	Debet	Kredit
1980	Valutakonto	7
1640	Skattefordringar	2
6996	Betald utländsk inkomstskatt	1
8311	Ränteintäkter från bank		10

Note: The 7 SEK you see paid into the account and 3 SEK was paid to the Belgian tax authority. Out of these 30%, you should be able to reclaim 20% from the Belgian authorities, since due to the current double taxation treaty (as of 2025), they can tax at most 10% to Swedish entities.
